The Roof Record
One project / four partsThe roof problem was underneath the roof.
Another proposal would have covered the existing TPO. Joshua traced the failure deeper: bathroom exhaust was sending warm, moist air into the rafter bays beneath the membrane. The new roof began with correcting that ventilation path.
- 01
Observed
Bathroom exhaust was terminating in the rafter bays beneath the existing TPO assembly, where warm, moist air could collect.
- 02
Recommended
Route the bathroom exhaust outdoors before installing the replacement roof.
- 03
Built
The exhaust path was corrected and 1,400 square feet of barn-red standing-seam roofing was installed.
- 04
Verified
Joshua reports that the exhaust now terminates outdoors and the project closed with the new barn-red roof in place.
