Ascension regularly works in Crestone. At this November 2023 home, Joshua's crew rerouted bathroom exhaust that had been trapping warm, moist air beneath the existing TPO before installing 1,400 square feet of barn-red standing-seam metal roofing.
CompletedCompleted barn-red standing-seam roof after the bathroom exhaust path was corrected.
What Ascension found
The ventilation problem had to be corrected first.
Bathroom exhaust was releasing warm, moist air into the rafter bays, where it was trapped beneath the TPO. The ridge vent could not move that moisture out effectively. Ascension rerouted the exhaust outdoors, then prepared and installed the new standing-seam roof.
Before the new roofThe existing TPO was opened during investigation, exposing a bathroom exhaust duct terminating in the rafter bay.
Crestone Roof Record
November 2023
How Ascension solved the problem before installing the roof.
The crew addressed the ventilation problem first, then prepared the roof and installed the new standing-seam system.
01
Find the source
The bathroom exhaust ducts ended inside the rafter bays, trapping warm, moist air beneath the existing TPO membrane.
02
Vent it outdoors
Ascension rerouted the bathroom exhaust to the exterior so warm, moist air no longer emptied into the roof cavity.
03
Install the new roof
Ascension prepared the roof and installed 1,400 square feet of barn-red standing-seam metal roofing.
